300
2007-04-30

Its hot. Up to 90 today. Don't mean to be complaining, but its hot. Thankfully, its dark in our apartment so its cool.

We went to see 300 last night. They've gone up a dollor in their prices at the cheap place we go, too.

Anyway, glad we saw it. It is its own little masterpiece in certain ways. The way it plays out like a live graphic novel. While some might say, the cheeziest lines ever, still, you have to remember this is based on a graphic novel, not Shakespeare.

Then later Logan and I had to get into a discussion. He had to start in on the history of the real Sparta and how actually, it was a rather strange place, and the reason the soliders were so good at what they did was because they were bi-sexual. There believe was that sort of bond between soliders would make them fight for each other. "Sort of like the Nazis...." Not that I would want to compare the Spartans to the Nazi army or anything. But he says, maybe if we didn't make such a big deal out of the "don't ask/don't tell" policy, we might have even a better military force.

On the lighter side of things, check out this parady of 300.
